Iodine is one of those minerals that most people are chronically low in and most doctors aren't looking for. Every cell in your body needs it, your thyroid is particularly dependent on it, and modern diets - especially those low in seafood, often don't deliver enough.

Lugol's is the classic formulation - iodine and potassium iodide combined. The combination is important: the two forms work differently in the body, with different tissues preferentially taking up each one.
