About this formula

Synthetic calcium supplements have a problem that rarely gets mentioned on the label: the body cannot assimilate inorganic calcium the way it assimilates calcium from food. What it can't use, it deposits - and not always where you want it.

This formula uses food-sourced, herb-derived calcium alongside the co-factors required for the body to actually direct it into bone and tissue correctly. The difference between calcium supplementation that helps and calcium supplementation that parks mineral in the wrong places is largely about the form and the co-factor environment.

Shavegrass (Horsetail) - the highest plant source of bioavailable silica, which is required for bone collagen matrix formation. Silica is what gives bone its flexibility and tensile strength - the infrastructure calcium mineralises into. Without adequate silica, calcium has nowhere structurally useful to go. Also contains naturally occurring calcium in plant form.

Nettle - one of the most mineral-dense plants available. Naturally occurring calcium, magnesium, iron, and silica in a food matrix alongside chlorophyll and vitamins.

Oatstraw - a deeply nutritive nervine herb rich in naturally occurring calcium, magnesium, and silica. Traditionally used specifically as a bone and nervous system tonic.

Lobelia - an antispasmodic nervine included to support mineral assimilation and ease tension in the musculoskeletal system.

White Oak Bark - high in tannins and naturally occurring minerals. Traditionally used for connective tissue support and structural integrity.

Lungwort - traditionally used as a mineral-rich nutritive herb with affinity for lung and connective tissue.

Marshmallow Root - demulcent and soothing. Supports the mucosal lining through which mineral absorption occurs, improving the environment for uptake.

Mullein Leaf - a mineral-bearing nutritive herb traditionally associated with bone and connective tissue support alongside its better-known respiratory uses.

Wormwood - included in small amounts for its bitter action, which stimulates digestive secretions and improves overall mineral absorption.

Note: Calcium absorption also depends on adequate vitamin D3, K2, and magnesium. This formula is best used as part of a broader nutritional approach that includes those co-factors - not as a standalone calcium source in isolation.
