Warm water pulls magnesium straight through the skin. Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate in its purest form. When it dissolves into hot bath water, the magnesium and sulfate ions absorb transdermally and go to work on tense, overworked muscles without asking your digestive system to process anything. Dead Sea salt adds a second wave of minerals, more magnesium plus potassium, calcium, and sulfur, drawn from one of the most mineral-dense bodies of water on earth. Sodium bicarbonate softens the water itself, taking the mineral edge off so the soak feels silky instead of harsh. Organic jojoba oil rides along with the salts and coats the skin as they dissolve, so you step out of the tub moisturized instead of stripped, which is the usual complaint with a plain drugstore Epsom salt bag.
From there, the two blends part ways. Hers leans floral: rose geranium, ylang ylang, lavender, palmarosa, and bergamot. Lavender carries most of the calming weight here, and rose geranium and palmarosa round it out with a softer, more grounding floral note underneath. His goes warmer and woodier: cedarwood atlas, black pepper, vetiver, clove bud, and bergamot. Vetiver's deep, rooty scent and black pepper's warming kick take the place of anything floral. Both share the same bergamot base and the same mineral foundation underneath, so it's really one soak wearing two different scents. Pick whichever one matches the mood you're after, or just grab both.
Add half a cup to a cup to warm bath water and soak for 20 to 30 minutes.
