Comfrey has a long folk nickname: knitbone. That tells you most of what you need to know.

The active compound, allantoin, promotes cell proliferation and is one of the more well-studied topical herbs for supporting skin and tissue repair. Comfrey has been used topically on bruises, sprains, and skin concerns for centuries, and there's enough modern research to back up why it works.

This salve is made with a proper comfrey infusion - not an extract, not a powder added in at the end. The herb is infused in oil for weeks before the salve is made, which is how you actually get the benefits out.

For external use on unbroken skin. Not for use on deep wounds or broken skin. Don't use during pregnancy.
